Coach Dale Zimmerman Named Head Basketball Coach at St. Frederick High School!

With an impressive 17 years of coaching experience across multiple sports, Coach Dale Zimmerman Jr. brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to St. Fredrick High School. His hands-on coaching style and unique ability to build confidence in student-athletes both on and off the court make him an exceptional leader for our basketball program.

Coach Z's basketball journey includes 8 successful years at Wossman High School, where his teams made three Top 28 appearances, secured a State Runner-Up title in 2005, and clinched the State Championship in 2008. He had the privilege of serving as an assistant to his father, Dale Zimmerman Sr., and coaching alongside the legendary 4-time Girls State Championship coach, Otis Robinson.

After Wossman, Coach Z spent two years as an assistant at Sterlington High School, guiding the teams to state playoffs the second year. His tenure at Danny Jones Middle School in Mansfield, TX, was marked by remarkable success, with his teams winning the middle school championship twice in four years. Most recently, he contributed to the success of Neville Junior High School as an assistant coach.

Coaching Philosophy: Coach Z believes in the power of sports to transform lives. His philosophy centers on developing well-rounded athletes who excel both on the court and in their personal lives. He emphasizes the importance of teamwork, discipline, and resilience, fostering an environment where players can grow and thrive. Coach Z is dedicated to instilling confidence in his players, helping them to believe in their abilities and achieve their full potential.
