Who We Are
St. Frederick is the only Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory high school in northeast Louisiana, under the direction of the Diocese of Shreveport.
The school was first established as St. Hyacinth School in 1863, later became St. Matthew School, and then St. Frederick High School in 1965. |

Students enter primarily from two area Catholic elementary schools and one Episcopal school. Most students reside in Ouachita and Morehouse Parishes.
The Monroe/West Monroe area has a population of approximately 150,000. Located in northeast Louisiana on the Ouachita River, its history dates back to 1780, when it was established as a trade center on the river's banks. Today, Monroe is home to the University of Louisiana at Monroe, one of its largest employers, and is supported additionally by business, industry and farming.
Approximately 240 co-ed students are enrolled in grades 7-12. St. Frederick High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and approved by the Louisiana Department of Education. The school is a member of
